Warranty Policy Kenmore and Kenmore Elite Appliances

All Kenmore and Kenmore Elite appliances are warranted against performance failure due to product defects in material or workmanship for one year. Some warranties offer additional coverage time periods for product or designated product components. Within the warranty time period a defective product will receive free repair or replacement if repair is unavailable.

All Kenmore and Kenmore Elite warranties cover only product defects in material and workmanship, and will NOT pay for:

  3. Expendable items that can wear out from normal use within the warranty time period, including but not limited to filters, belts, light bulbs, and bags.

When this appliance is installed, operated and maintained according to all supplied instructions, the following warranty coverage applies.

  • For five years* from the date of purchase, a defective sealed refrigerant system will be repaired free of charge. This coverage applies for only one year from the purchase date if this appliance is ever used for other than private household purposes.

* Linear compressor units carry ten years refrigerant system coverage.

Five Year Limited Warranty on Magnetron

For five years from the date of purchase, if the microwave magnetron fails due to defects in material or workmanship, a new one will be supplied free of charge. Safety regulations require that the magnetron be installed by Sears. After the first year from the purchase date, you are responsible for the labor cost to have it installed.

Kenmore Elite Limited Warranty

When this appliance is installed, operated and maintained according to all supplied instructions, the following warranty coverage applies.

  • For two years from the date of purchase, any part of the dishwasher that fails due to defective materials or workmanship will be replaced free of charge. After the first year from purchase date, the customer assumes any labor costs associated with replacement of these parts.
  • For five years from the date of purchase, any part of the upper or lower dish rack that rusts due to defective materials or workmanship will be replaced free of charge. After the first year from purchase date, the customer assumes any labor costs associated with dish rack replacement.
  • If a leak ever occurs as a result of rust-through of the stainless steel tub or inner door panel, the tub or panel will be replaced free of charge.
